Access is not a setting on a folder somewhere above the file. Every control below runs on the file you shared, so revoking, expiring or downgrading access takes effect wherever that file has reached.

How access is controlled, what a share link can and cannot stop, and what is never done with your files.
What makes this private file sharing?
A file is private until you share it, and sharing is an explicit act with a shape you choose: a named person with a role, or a link with an expiry, a password, or downloading turned off. Nothing is public by default, and no private route is served without a signed-in session.
Can I stop someone downloading or forwarding a file?
You can publish a link as preview-only, which lets someone read the document in the browser without downloading a copy. You cannot stop a determined person screenshotting or re-typing it — nothing can — but you can make the link itself stop working with an expiry date, and revoke it at any time.
What happens if a share link goes to the wrong person?
Revoke it. The link stops working immediately for everyone holding it. Then open the file’s audit log to see whether it was opened at all, and by whom, before deciding whether anything else needs doing.
Are my files used to train anything, or scanned for advertising?
No. Your files are stored so you can use them, and that is all. NevTan Drive has no advertising product to target and does not mine file contents.
Is any of this behind a business plan?
No. Expiring links, link passwords, preview-only sharing, role-based collaborators and the per-file audit log are on every account, free ones included. Storage is the only thing a paid plan buys.
